The Raccoon is probably one of the most familiar animals to city folk. Masked like a bandit, this animal is a first class clown, and fun to watch. I have sighted these animals in the Finch Meander on more than one occasion. They are first class climbers, swim when necessary, and habitually wash their food. They can chatter, shriek, whistle, click their teeth, snarl and growl. Their favorite food is crayfish, but will forage for people food. Unfortunately there is a high incidence of rabies in these animals, and they should never be handled. Their teeth are sharp and they could inflict a nasty bite.
