Squirrels are members of the Family Sciuridae. In Canada twenty two species occur. The tree squirrels found in the Rouge are members of the genus Sciurus and may be either Black, Grey, Red or Brown with lighter under bellies. They can cause serious problems inside your chimney.

Acorns are Squirrel Food

Ground squirrels hibernate in winter; but tree squirrels do not hibernate, and are active all year. They live on seeds, nuts or small eggs, and may store their food.
