The Nuthatch can walk down a tree head first. It has black cap, beady black eyes, white face and white breast, and a woodpecker like bill. You probably have heard its call; a distinct whi whi who whistle. It's range is Southern Canada to Mexico, and may be found in forests, river woods, and in shade trees. It is very fond of sunflower seeds and will visit your well stocked feeder.
