The Red-breasted Nuthatch is slightly smaller and has a rust
colored breast. It has a black line through the eye, with a white
line above. They eat bark-insects, seeds, nuts, and are fond of
suet and sunflower seeds. I use the shelled un-salted seeds; there is no mess to clean up later. The oil content should be high.
