The Green-winged Teal is another duck that stops over on their way north. They are a small duck when compared to others. The male has a brown head with a green head patch. There is also a Blue-Winged Teal which is more common in our area.

Their range is Northern North America; where they may be found on lakes and ponds. They stop over in the GTA; on their way up north and back agin in the fall when they head south.
