The male Wood Duck is a rather spectacular sight, in breeding plumage. It displayers a pattern of colours; green, blue, brown,red, black and white. They frequent forest areas and use holes in trees for nesting. When ready to leave the nest, the young drop to the ground without any damage and take to the water.
