The Brush-foots have short fore legs, making them useless for walking. The fore-legs just brush whatever they land on; thus the name. Brush-foots walk using their middle and hind legs. They are present thrugh June/August.

This is a smaller butterfly when compared to other Brush-foots, but makes up with a big splash of colour. Common in Ontario; you will find them darting along the ground and on low grass or leaves. The males will even approach people. Two versions of this butterfly occur; type A and type B; at chromosome level.
