This is the most incredible bug I have ever photographed. It was perched on a white clover stem. When it flew away, I didn't get much of a chance to observe it's flight; I lost it in the grass. Every thing looks pre-historic; especially the wing veins. We only photograph, and do not capture specimens for closer scrutiny, we leave that for the experts. I admit I find this critter daunting, but then I have never seen a bug this big before. I have encountered another smaller one recently
