Wood Satyrs are a smaller butterfly and are normally brown with 2 eye-spots per wing. They may also appear in a grey form. One interesting detail I noticed while photographing butterflies; is the differences you see wings vertical versus wings horizontal. Colour, intensity, and eye-spot detail may be slightly or fastly different. Subtle Eye-spot differences are apparent in these two images. This is why your photograph may appear different to the one in a reference book.
