"Thadodaho has not yet had the snakes
combed from his hair; Deganawida, said some to stammer, stands

East of the mouth of the Rouge River; near Frenchman's Bay;
existed a village called Ganatsekwyagon It was occupied by the Seneca or more likely Neutral Iroquois See Map Detail Dominant from a military point of view; the Seneca in reality lived on the south shore of Lake Ontario and were a member tribe of the Iroquois Confederacy. They were terrorizing any tribe trading with the French in particular the Wendat's.
Lets take a closer look at the First Nations presence in the
Rouge Watershed area. We know they lived in the area until the
late 1600's when war amongst themselves; over the Fur Trade; and
threat of European Settlement drove them out.
