The Rouge Watershed and Oak ridges Moraine support a wide variety of plant life. Some 440 species of plants are found, with 12 National and 93 Local varieties, some rare.

Marsh Marigold is a spring plant that may be found in marshes, wet meadows and along moving water. Also know as Cowslip; it is toxic to animals; and often found along with the Water Hemlock which is deadly. It blooms from April to June.
