Pickerelweed is an aquatic herb. It is found in fresh water marshes, and on the edges of ponds, lakes and streams. It blooms from June through November and provides hiding places for small aquatic animals. Deer feed on these plants. You can eat it's seeds; which are like nuts; and the leaves may be cooked.
