Purple Coneflower .... Known as a Source
of Echinacea
These plants are found in the wild east of the Rockies Mountains
and are also cultivated in family gardens. They are similar to
the yellow coneflower and the Black-eyed Susan. Recently modern
medicine has embraced Echinacea as a treatment for the common
cold. It is used to fight colds and flu by
strengthening the immune system (
