 Pond Slider Turtle ... Head Red-eared Slider
This turtle is not found in the wild here; however this one is a survivor as a pet. This is one of two species of turtles that were sold as pets, before we knew any better. The Pond Slider is found in the wild in the warmer southern states. They are often seen on logs; stacked-up; sunning themselves and appear in two species; the Yellow bellied Slider

and the Red-eared Slider. They may live as long as 30 years. I was given this one which was going to be abandoned in High Park.
