The Cotton Tail Rabbit is found throughout Southern Ontario and is a food source; when young; for owls, hawks, bobcats, lynx and foxes. It does not change it's colour in winter. It has a litter of 4 to 7 bunnies several times a year; and a life span of less than 2 years. The population varies over a time; with highs and lows. They eat a variety of green plants, including poison ivy. I have added an image of a Cottontail that was rescued from a cat attack. The rabbit seems to thrive on greens and carrots given to it by it's host. It has grown to young adult size.
