The Starling is a "blackbird" with a meadow-lark shape. In spring they are iridescent with a yellow bill, and in winter speckled with a black bill. They are not what I would call a desired bird to have around. An introduced species, they live on insects, seeds, and berries. Their voice is a tseeeer or whooee. The young are very similar in appearance to a female Cowbird. They are found in cities, and open country, or feeding on your lawn.
