The Blue Jay is a member of the Crow Family. They prefer the coniferous forest; eating fruit, insects, and grain. Blue Jays are one of the few birds that store their food. They are a rather a large bird and are considered to be bullies and thieves by many people, because they create havoc and mayhem around bird feeders. The Blue Jays have been decimated by the West Nile Virus, and it is only now that we are beginning to see more Jays locally. The Finch Meander is a good viewing location. These images were taken in High Park Toronto.
